What are we learning today?
The uses of spreadsheets and how having this skill can help you get a job.
61,000 jobs require knowing how to use spreadsheets. Go to  http://www.simplyhired.com/a/jobs/list/q-spreadsheet and look at your monitor number.
Go to that number's page and find one job that needs spreadsheets.
You will need to give the name of the job and a sentence that DESCRIBES the job.
For example: If you are sitting at monitor 20, go to page 20 and pick one job from that page.

Charades- each group of three will have 3 minutes to come up with a way to act out one of the people below using spreadsheets. They can say anything but the name of the person.

Car lot exercise-  
1*Students will create a spreadsheet of dream cars that they would have in their own car lot business.
2*Open the "car lot" file found in student docs, Witkowski folder, Spreadsheet folder and save to your lunch number. 
3*Students will go to http://www.carmax.com and find 3 cars and type the information (year, make(brand), model(name), miles, and price) into their spreadsheets.

If there is time, we will review the following daily spreadsheet skill exercises:
Skill 7- format table, Skill 13- data bars, Skill 23- change color of tabs, Skill 31 formatting cells
Skill 24- transpose data, 18- themes, and 16 hide and show rows

What are we learning today?Reviewing the importance of PowerPoint presentations and how to create and save your own designs as a template or master slide. For example, a slide master lets you insert a picture or logo that you want to appear on multiple slides.

Guided Practice:
@Projects will be returned and we will discuss common mistakes from the PowerPoint project.
@We will practice the master slide concept (you are creating your own design/theme/template)
@We will do a two person group activity to remember the 10 steps for creating a presentation

What are we learning today?

10 Step Procedure for developing a PowerPoint presentation
Goal:
You should be finished putting content (both words and pictures) on your 9 to 10 slides.
You should have added one to three of the many special effects AND placing the number of the effect in the notes fields.

TODAY we are going to review design techniques finish adding all of the special effects.
* Your PowerPoint needs to be easy to read from a distance

* Don't use small font size for words
* Different colors when appropriate
* A mix of words and pictures

* Rule of 7- not too many words on a slide
* Bullets or line spacing for words to make it easier to read

* Complete sentences
* Citations for pictures and words you copy from the Internet

MONDAY we will review and revise any mistakes.

Today's goal is to add pictures and special effects. To start to practice and make revisions.

Guided Practice
:
@Miss W will review the correct finger placement for P key.
@ Miss W will model the 10 steps to use to develop a PowerPoint
presentation.
@ Miss W will explain the PowerPoint Project rubrics (what skills (knowing how to make your PowerPoint look cool) need to be demonstrated on the PowerPoint-pink sheet. It is very important that you put the skill number in the notes pane or you will receive a 0 for that skill)) and (what content (the important part- the message) and design (thinking about how everything goes together to get your message communicated) need to be demonstrated on the PowerPoint- green sheet)
@ Sample PowerPoints will be shown to how they compare to design practices.
@ Sample Storyboards will be created- Lunch Time Process

@Students will help each other during the storyboard practice.


Independent Exercise:

@Working in groups, students will write down the 5 presentation procedure questions and the a, b, c or d letter answer. Leave room to write down the correct answer sentences after papers are checked. When you are finished WRITE your name on the board and Miss W will come by to discuss the storyboard assignment with you.

@Students will review their decision for which ACADEMIC topic (LanguageArts, Science, Social Studies, Health or Math) they are using to create a short PowerPoint presentation (8-10 slides)and start thinking about the content and design by using their pink storyboard worksheet.
@You MUST complete the storyboard before you start your PowerPoint

3. Finish the 5 question Presentation PURPOSE test study guide sheet.
WRITE out ALL of the correct answers even if you have them all correct!!!!
