Friday, Nov 30- Saving Animation Presentations & Converting to Video

1. First, go to your zenworks box,
click on the Alice program
The Alice button/icon has a girl's face on it.
You will need to minimize and click "run"
2. Open your Alice file.
3. Sign in to http://www.edmodo.com

4. Delete old files from your lunch room number    

5. Turn to page 204 and type the return address and
    the inside address and the Dear Ron.
   You don't need to type the paragraphs today.


All missing work needs to be turned in today.
Don't forget to bring can food in for
elective ice cream sundae contest.


What are we learning?
1.5 Digital Lifestyles- Animation (1st 20 minutes)
5.2. Identify different career opportunities available for a person who is computer literate.
1.2 Internet and the Web (2nd 20 minutes)
Guided Lesson:
Miss W will show students how convert their Alice file into a video so it can be posted to Edmodo or Youtube.
Independent Exercise:
Student Alice animations will be shown to the class and graded against the rubric.
Animation Rubric
A. 10 points- storyboard with your name and 6 scenes
B. 20 points- 3d text title and student name (or billboard with title)
and the title moves off of the screen slowly
C. 10 points- characters/animals move
D. 20 points- a specific part is moved (like a hand or leg etc.)
E. 10 points- two methods at once (use the do together purple button)
F. 10 points - there are word bubbles
G. 10 points- the timing is slow enough to read the words
H. 10 points- spelling is correct and grammar is correct
There are no texting symbols.

see all of your creative ideals but she has to help ALL students, so please

3. When you are finished make sure you REVIEW the RUBRIC listed below.
You can be a helper or you can work on the yellow e-learning sheet

4. You need to make the speech durations 6 seconds because Edmodo speeds
up the videos.

5. Remember to make the title you go to 3D text,
then move it up 10 meters for 10 seconds.

6. To bring the arms down, (see paper at desk) You roll the right arm right 0.2 and you roll the left arm left 0.2

7. To "hold" something you need to go to the Properties tab
and use the vehicle option- remember to go back to Methods tab

8. To move to a different scene use the camera controls and the move method

9. As you work make sure you SAVE

We will learn how to animate using a drop and drag interface.
Miss W will facilitate a group lesson to learn the basics.

Independent Lesson:
Students will create a storyboard with 4 to 6 scenes.
After teacher approval, students will create an animation based on their storyboard. 
On your storyboard write the letters (A-F) next to the first time you meet the requirements.
For example, letter A should go besides your name. Letter B should be beside the title.
Letter C should be beside the first time a character or animal moves, etc.
Animation Rubric

Tuesday, Nov 20- Digital Literacy Certification

Bellringer:
Do NOT sit at a seat where the printer does not work!!!!
On page 202, you will see how to end the letter.
Hit enter once after the body or words of your letter and
The word Sincerely needs to be typed.
You will then hit enter 4 times and then type your name.

Take the Microsoft Digital Literacy Certification test.

Guided Lesson:

Students will finish typing a block-style thank you letter to a person or to a company.

We have covered 66% of the Digital Literacy material. There are 30 questions on the certification exam and we have covered 20 of the questions.

Today, we will take the Microsoft Digital Literacy Certification test.
If you pass, you will get a 100 for the grade (no matter what your score is) and have a choice of continuing with next Monday's Animation lesson or with the class Digital Literacy lessons

If you do NOT pass, you will continue with the class Digital Literacy lessons and retake the test for a grade before Christmas break.

Independent exercise: Take the Digital Literacy Certification test.

and click on launch Digital Literacy certification test
They will take the digital literacy certification test.

Let Miss W know when you are finished and if you pass she will print your certificate
if you did not pass she will show you how to copy and paste the study guide to a PowerPoint.

If you do not copy and paste the study guide you will need to RETAKE the test.

Monday, Nov 19- Formatting a Letter; Review for DL Certification

Bellringer: You are going to be writing a thank you letter to a person or to a company.
On page 201, use the letter as a guide. Type the ENTIRE letter starting with the return address
BUT substitute your address for the RETURN address, use today's date November 19, 2012,
and substitute the name of the person/company you are writing to.
If you don't know the address just type the fake one and you can substitute it for the real address on Tuesday.
