Open “Spreadsheet Vocabulary" PowerPoint-  math operations and formulas (slides 21 - 35)

Independent exercise:
Open a NEW spreadsheet file.
We will practice typing in formulas as a group and then individually.
We will review the following daily spreadsheet skill exercises using your car lot spreadsheet.
Write the questions and answer questions 14-19.

If there is time we will format our car lot spreadsheet.

All remaining interim reports will be passed out.

Independent exercise:
Students will write out study guide questions 11-13.

Add 10 cars and their information to your car lot exercise spreadsheet.
Only use http://www.carmax.com/ to look for cars.
Remember to get the year, make, model, miles and price.

We will review the new vocabulary terms using our car lot spreadsheet.

Who uses spreadsheets?

Charades- each group of three will have 3 minutes to come up with a way to act out one of the people below using spreadsheets. They can say anything but the name of the person.
For example: They can not say "Look at me, I'm an accountant."
Accountants, Teachers,
Engineers, Sales people,
Scientists, Supermarkets,
Market Researchers.

Car lot exercise-
1*Students will create a spreadsheet of dream cars that they would have in their own car lot business.
2*Open the "car lot" file found in student docs, Witkowski folder, Spreadsheet folder and save to your lunch number.
3*Students will go to http://www.carmax.com and find 3 cars and type the information (year, make(brand), model(name), miles, and price) into their spreadsheets.

Write and answer questions 11 and 12 from the Spreadsheet Vocabulary PowerPoint.

If there is time, we will review the following daily spreadsheet skill exercises:

What are we learning today?
We are finishing Internet Safety.
Add video to Edmodo. (NOT Design section)
Review original Internet Safety questions and revise as needed.
The uses of spreadsheets and how having this skill can help you get a job.
61,000 jobs require knowing how to use spreadsheets.
1. Go to http://www.simplyhired.com/a/jobs/list/q-spreadsheet and look at your monitor number.
2. Go to that number's page and find one job that needs spreadsheets.
3. You will need to give the name of the job and a sentence that DESCRIBES the job.
For example: If you are sitting at monitor 20, go to page 20 and pick one job from that page.

What are we learning today?
We are learning how to protect ourselves from cyberbullies and internet predators.

Guided Practice:
@Students will watch and discuss the Cyberbully videos.

@ AFTER the lesson, you will review and answers and make changes.
@ In groups of 2 to 3 answer the following questions on Edmodo.
  1. What would you do if someone sent you a mean text?
