Literacy/Vocabulary Strategies (Word Wall)

Correct typing posture will help you type faster and
keep you from getting repetitive strain injury.
  1. How should your fingers be?
  2. What are the  home row keys for your left hand?
  3. What are the home row keys for your right hand?  
  4. How should your back be?
  5. What is the form and keying style that a typist uses? Begins with a “T”
  6. What is the correct keystroking technique?  Begins with a “Q” and a “S”
  7. The enter key is controlled by which finger?
  8. In a proper work area, the copy should be where?

Principles of Design
Balance- graphics don’t overpower text and page is not too heavy one side or the other.
Proximity/unity-distance between elements on a page.
Alignment- justification of elements.
Repetition- consistent pattern of font and color.
Contrast- the use of size and color to emphasize the most important elements on a page.
White space- the blank or negative space on a page that gives readers’ eyes a break.
