Announcements:
Make sure you have saved your picture to your lunch number file. You may email it to yourself and then open your email in class TO SAVE the picture to your lunch number. If you do not have a scanned picture bring a picture in and you can scan it at school. Remember it needs to be a business appropriate picture, with proper dress and just you.

Guided Exercise:
Miss W will help everyone create a linkedin profile.
In order for Miss W to walk around and help she needs a volunteer to type their linkedin information on the Smartboard. Candy reward for volunteer.

Independent Exercise:
Students will start to explore the Occupational Outlook Handbook web site http://www.bls.gov/ooh/

Create a new PowerPoint called OOH which stands for Occupational Outlook Handbook

Title the 1st slide "OOH- Occupational Outlook Handbook" and copy this information to the 1st slide

Try to find careers that sound interesting to you.
If you do not know what a career is then click on the link with its name.

Choose the Show 100 entries column
Title the 2nd slide "Declining careers"
Click on declining and list 5 jobs that are declining, have a clipart image for them, explain what the job is, what education is needed and explain why you think they are declining. For example, desktop publishers are declining maybe because everyone can create their own documents and PowerPoints on a computer.

Title the 3rd slide "Growing careers"
Click on 29 percent or faster growth and list 2 jobs that are growing, have a clipart image for them, explain what the job is, what education is needed and explain why you think they are growing. For example, audiologists are growing maybe because everyone is getting old and losing their hearing.

Under 2010 Median Pay click on the $75,000 range and list 1 job that is in that range, have a clipart image for it and explain what the job is and what education is needed .
