Bell-Ringer/Connecting Strategy

  1. Go to wclassroom.blogspot.com
  2. Students will open the Persuasive PowerPoint Project PowerPoint in the PowerPoint folder.

Lesson-Instructional Strategies & Procedures for Teacher and Students

Guided Lesson:
@ Students will review the Persuasive PowerPoint Project PowerPoint in the PowerPoint folder.
1st slide has title of charity or product for sale and a webcam or snapshot picture.
2nd slide has inserted video clip. Miss W will show you how to add shape, border & special effect
3rd slide has audio clip (don’t forget citation if you use internet picture)
4th slide can include citations and/or Step 1 definition.
Review the rubric
@ Miss W will review how to create a video. Go to the How to make a video file

Independent Exercise
You do NOT record until Miss W. has approved your storyboard AND scripts!!!!!!!
@ Students will create and save videos. 

@ Students will review rubric.
•Must be a persuasive video- You can try to persuade students to give to a charity/cause, or to help a charity/cause, or you can try to sell an appropriate item.
•Video must be clear and understandable.
•You must have a shape, a border and at least one special effect around your video.
•You must have a border around your clip art or images and animation on images.
•If you use images from Internet you must have a citation(s).
•Spelling and grammar must be correct.
                     •Have the words “Step 1- Determine the purpose, educational/informative, persuasive or narrative (story/entertainment).” on a slide.

@ Students will review video cam equipment procedures:
•If you play with the video cam and/or headset you will NOT be allowed to use them.
•You will not be allowed to use a video cam until you show Miss W your subject and script.
•You may make multiple 20 second videos and place them on different slides.
•You will need to share the video cams.
•You may work  individually or in groups of two if you wish and only create one PowerPoint with both of your names on it.
•While you are waiting or if you do not want to use video, you may make audio clips like we did for the Educational/informative Powerpoints.
