Literacy/Vocabulary Strategies (Word Wall)
The NSA has the largest database in the world.
A Database is a is a tool used to organize, store, retrieve, and
communicate  (report on) groups of data or related information.

Bell-Ringer/Connecting Strategy
On page 32, type lines 09 and 10.
Remember to use your thumb for the space bar.
We are using our left INDEX finger for the U key.

Guided Practice:
@ Miss W will give test directions.

Independent Lesson:
@ Students will take the test.

Independent Activity: @ In groups of 2 or 3 (two groups may have 3 people) students will read a paragraph from the article "N.S.A Gathers Data on Social Connections of U.S. Citizens" from http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/29/us/nsa-examines-social-networks-of-us-citizens.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0 .
@ In their own words, students will write a 10 to 15 word sentence about what their paragraph is about and share with class.

@ Students will read the entire article and answer questions.

@ Students will create a Glogster about the NSA


Homework- Extra Credit for 3rd test:
Ask your parents if they have a business card or
have one in their wallets from a business or
have a friend with a business card or the next
time you go into a business or they go into a
business see if they have a business card or
at home go to Google and then images and type
"business card" then print a business card.
If you give Miss W a business card sometime
this week you will get 5 points extra credit on
the second test. MUST be appropriate for school-
no alcohol, guns or bad words on cards.
MUST BE IN BY MONDAY
