Class practice of Hurricane sheet using functions
We are going to practice inserting the following FUNCTIONS or shortcuts:
Sum- adds all of the numbers in a range
Max- finds the largest number in a range
Min- finds the lowest number in a range
Average- calculates the average of a range of numbers
Count- counts the numbers of entries in a range
@Depending on time several functions examples will be completed.
***Students will open the payroll file and by using functions
find the following information:
the maximum hourly rate
the minimum hourly rate
the sum of the hourly rates
the average of the hourly rates
@ Open up your car lot file.
Look at the board and add the words (labels) sum, max, min and average.
Insert the functions sum, max, min and average.
Remember you will need to use the correct range.

Independent Exercise: Students will present their Workplace Behavior Projects
Students will finish Appropriate Work Behavior Projects
PROJECT Activity Rubrics For each of the projects listed below you will need to choose: 3 appropriate workplace behaviors 3 ethical behaviors 3 unethical behaviors 3 benefits of good workplace behavior A. Create a crossword puzzle and a word maze about 12 of the behaviors. Must use all 12 behaviors. Spelling must be correct for crossword and word maze Crossword definitions need to be complete sentences Maze needs to include shorter definitions along with the words Maze needs word and definition list B. Create a Kahoot game about 12 of the behaviors.

F. Create a PowerPoint showing famous people displaying 12 of the behaviors. No copy and paste, it must be in your own words why the picture displays the behavior. Do NOT type just definitions.

Include a title slide with your name and the title "Work Place Behaviors"
If Internet pictures are used you need to have web site citations.
You will only have today (Wednesday) to complete the project. If your partner is absent, you will need to complete the project. On Thursday and Friday, the projects will be presented to the class.
On Thursday, students going on Friday's field trip will present first.

Open car lot file and add the following items to your file:
On your car lot spreadsheet complete the following formatting:
1. choose a "format as table" style,
Skill 7- format table any color, (Home tab- format as table arrow)
Sorting
Make sure you have chosen a "Format as Table" style.
Click on the sort arrow by the price.
We are going to sort the most expensive car.
We are going to sort for the least expensive car.
Click on the sort arrow by the miles.
We are going to sort the car with the most miles.
We are going to sort the car with the least miles.
2. change the color of the 3 tabs,
Skill 23- change color of tabs,
(Right click on tab, click on change color, choose color)
3. create a "thick box" border (any color) around your favorite car,
Skill 31 formatting cells- (highlight car, choose border button)
4. fill in that cell with any color (choose paint bucket)
5. and change the data format in the price column to currency.

(highlight prices, then click on number format arrow)
6. create data bars of any color in your price field

(Home tab- Conditional Formatting button)
7. hide the row of the car you like the least
Right click on number of car you do not like and choose hide.

Depending on Time: 1. Miss W will review functions. Open the 1Spreadsheet Vocabulary file
2. Open a new Excel spreadsheet
In F2 type 20
In F3 type 30
In F4 type 40
In F5 type 50
In F6 type 60
We will type out a formula =F2+F3+F4+F5+F6 and then we type out function to see how functions are shortcuts. =Sum(F2:F6)
It is important to understand the parts of a function (equals sign, function name, parentheses, beginning of the range, colon, ending of the range and parentheses).
