Literacy/Vocabulary Strategies (Word Wall)
You can research job openings on websites like Monster.com or through employment agencies (they charge you or the business a fee) or through newspaper classified ads.

    search for a job you researched yesterday or search for a new job

b. Employment Agencies http://www.grahamjobs.com/staffing_agency_programs_index.html
   They show job positions but not the employer's name until you pay them. 

c. Classifieds http://www.greensboro.com/triad_careers/
   While newspapers still list job positions in their papers many also list them online.

Work-based Learning

  You only need to write the first sentence in the job description blank.
 


If absent on Wednesday:
 Choose one of the 16 careers and create a PowerPoint.
  # The first slide should have your name and occupation and a picture with a citation.
  #  Look at the ENTIRE job description. Have one or more slide for each sentence.
You need at least 1 animation and 1 transition per slide
      You may copy and paste job description sentences.
  # The first six slides will follow the order of Tuesday's worksheet.
       slide 1, job title, your name, and picture
       slide 2, education needed
       slide 3, growth outlook (if star- look on google)
       slide 4  current workers (if star- look on google)
       slide 5  entry salary
       slide 6  job description from web site
       slide 7  Why do you want this job?
       slide 8  What are you going to do to be ready for this job? 
  #  Find interesting pictures about that occupation and have one picture per slide with
      the proper citations unless you use clip aret.
  #  Save to your lunch number.
