Publisher folder/ Design Principles PowerPoint

For Slides 46 through 48
The following questions will be on the test.
Write the number of the question, the red words in the question
and then look through the Design PowerPoint to find which Design principle
(balance, proximity/unity, alignment, repetition/consistency, contrast
or white space)  is described.
For example, you would write:
1. the location, date, time, and cost are centered.
And then the answer to this question is found on slide 21.
You would write that design principle.

Guided Lesson:
stop at 2:25.


3. Go to Publisher and open a newsletter of your choice
save it as PRACTICE to practice different techniques
such as manipulating text boxes, understanding the
flow of the panels, and the text box tools tab, zoom, etc.

Independent Activity:
1. Add text box  Home tab- then Draw Text Box
2. Zoom-  View tab- then Zoom
OR bottom right of screen

3. Type the words cat, dog, rat, and mice

4. Text Effects- highlight word,
Format tab- Shadow, Outline, Engrave, Emboss

5. Border- select, Format tab- Shape outline button

6. Picture- Insert tab- Insert clip art

7. Control Text wrap-
Click the picture that you want to wrap the text around
Home tab- wrap text button(s)

8. Text Box Tools- Text Fit
          Shrink Text, Grow Text box to fit, Best Fit
