Literacy/Vocabulary Strategies (Word Wall)
Tabs, Groups, Ribbon, balance, proximity/unity, alignment, repetition/consistency, contrast, white space
Proximity/unity – the distance between elements on a page.  Used to demonstrate a relationship or lack of a relationship between elements. In the map below, the legend explaining the different colors is very close to the actual map. It is in close proximity because it is important for understanding the map.

The following questions will be on the test.
Write the number of the question, the red words in the question
and then look through the Design PowerPoint to find which Design principle
(balance, proximity/unity, alignment, repetition/consistency, contrast
or white space)  is described.
For example, you would write:
1. the location, date, time, and cost are centered.
And then the answer to this question is found on slide 21.
You would write that design principle.

Homework- Extra Credit for 2nd test:
Ask your parents if they have a business card or
have one in their wallets from a business or
have a friend with a business card or the next
time you go into a business or they go into a
business see if they have a business card or
at home go to Google and then images and
type "business card" then print a business card.
If you give Miss W a business card sometime
this week you will get 5 points extra credit on
the second test. MUST be appropriate for school-
no alcohol, guns or bad words on cards.
