Dec 1 Bus and Fin

Learning Goal: Do Good on the 3rd Common Formative Assessment. Begin the Federal Reserve Unit.

After the CFA:
read pages 422 to 423 on the Federal Reserve and pull up 4.02 the Fed.
Students will pick one of the 12 services of the Federal Reserve
and find 3 interesting facts about their service (from PowerPoint, book, fed site Google).

Federal Reserve Services are:Supervision of banks
Agent for the federal government
Regulates monetary policy
Lends money to member banks
Acting as a clearinghouse
Participation in open market activities
Sets loan limits & standards
Supplies currency

Students will give a short 1 to 2 minute presentation of their facts.

Some students will present on Thursday and some students will present on Friday.

Miss W will finish reviewing the Federal Reserve Notes.

Read the two different view points about the Federal Reserve. Which point do you think makes the most sense? WHY? You will need to give 3 reasons. Some students will present on Thursday and some students will present on Friday.

The lab is being used for testing by another class today.

After completing the e-learning survey, students will work on the Word 2010 Ribbon exercise. Miss W. will let students know their interim grades.

Learning Goal: Study for Marketing Test. Start Financial Planning Unit.

1. Students will review the questions that will be on the Marketing test.
This is NOT a grade, however, you will take the questions that you miss and create a study guide. Do NOT write on study test packet. Use bubble sheets. Put your name on bubble sheets. The study guide will be for a grade. The less questions you miss on the review the less work you will have on the study guide.

You will be able to use PowerPoint 3.01 and PowerPoint 3.02. There will be no talking during the review question exercise, however, once everyone gets finished you will be able to help each other with the rest of the exercises.


2. Do Part 1 Introduction to Financial Planning and then do Part 2 Developing Business Budgets. You will be playing business games at the beginning of the exercise and then answering questions. You will NOT be graded on how well you did on the games. The grade will be on answering the questions.

Learning Goal: finish 3.02 Marketing- Buying Behaviors and Finish Marketing Project

Finish Marketing Project if not finished.

If you are finished with Marketing Project get ready to present. The students, who are finished, will start the presentations. After they are finished, we will stop presentations for a couple of minutes to go over Tuesday's lesson.

Finish Thursdays's bell ringer: Read page 241 and write down the 5 Steps in the Consumer Decision-Making Process on the back of your buying behavior worksheet. Write 5 sentences (one for each step) about how you will follow the steps when you buy your first car. Example: 1 Recognize a need: You are 16 and have your driver's license but do not have a
car to drive.

Guided Exercise:
Miss W will go over Tuesday's instructions.

1. Students will review the questions that will be on the Marketing test.
This is NOT a grade, however, you will take the questions that you miss and create a study guide. The study guide will be for a grade. The less questions you miss on the review the less work you will have on the study guide.

Your bell ringer for Tuesday will be to review PowerPoint 3.01 and PowerPoint 3.02 until 11:45. There will be no talking during the review question exercise, however, once everyone gets finished you will be able to help each other with the rest of the exercises.

BellWork:

2. There is going to be a classwork grade on the exercise at http://www.quia.com/rr/831438.html?AP_rand=1877175437 It is open notes and you can use a Word document to find the correct answer. Each of the 15 questions are worth 7 points. (so if you get 14 right you get 98 and if you get 15 right you get 100) Hint: If you do not get at least 13 right you will be coming to the next tiger time to practice. Once you get them right, minimize until Miss W checks it.

Independent Exercise:

1. Student will work on understanding the vocabulary of the Viewing Documents worksheet. Go to Student Docs then MSITA then Word then you will see the Viewing Documents worksheet. The sentences are highlighted and the vocabulary words are in red. Determine the meaning of the word either through the sentence or go to Google and look up the definition.

This is a Core Literacy exercise that stress the Craft and Structure standard "Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, including vocabulary specific to domains related to the content area," with the Viewing Documents worksheet.

2. Students will finish the Enhancing Doc worksheet check list

3. Students will start the Reviewing and Sharing check list.
