Literacy/Vocabulary Strategies (Word Wall)
Data markers are the blue squares on the blue line. They are used to indicate data values(numbers).
Tick marks are the little gray marks on the x axis and the y axis. They clarify the numbers.
The plot area is white. The plot area is the background.
New word: The red numbers are Data Labels, they are used to explain the data.

    Open the Chart components PowerPoint

you would determine the likelihood of success of your idea.

Bell-Ringer/Connecting Strategy
      
     1.  Go to wclassroom.blogspot.com and click on YELLOW link labeled Students will take notes on the Discovery Phase. Once you are finished with notes THEN you can get water or take a break.

@ Today we are going to take some quick notes on Recognizing Opportunities during the Discovery Phase. You will receive a class participation grade on the notes.

@ Each day when you come into class you will have the opportunity to participate in interesting activities OR if you disrupt the class you will have a long note writing assignment in another teacher's room.

@ If you do not complete the note writing assignment your daily participation grade will be zero. It is your choice!

Independent Exercise:

FOOD TRUCK SURVEY 
You need to create a food truck survey. 
                 You may look at the 2 examples in the above links
                  or go online and google Food Truck Survey for ideas

Use a word document.  ONE page only!
Have 10 questions with correct spelling/grammar.  
                  The questions may be multiple choice or fill in the blank.
Have clip art or pictures.

Have your name & your food truck’s name on it.   

 @Get out and complete both sides of the Generating Ideas worksheet

The Entry bar or formula bar shows the active cell’s information.
It is sometimes called the formula bar because you can see the formula when you click on the active cell
Look at the black border around the active cell D8.
The #####  in cell reference C3 means the cell is too small to show the number, widen the cell.
Look at how the values (numbers) are aligned to the right margin.
Look at how the labels (words) are aligned to the left margin.

@ Students will finish questions 13 through 23 on worksheet.

@ Miss W will explain the critique or review process for the Educational PowerPoint candy challenge. Each day, students will vote on which PowerPoint they think has the best design. For you to win candy, you MUST BE SPECIFIC AND GIVE DETAILS.
  An example of a bad review:  I liked it.
  An example of a good review:  The contrasting colors made it stand out, I liked the fade out animations. I really learned about weather when they explained how snow is created.
@ Students will work in pairs to complete the Spreadsheet Review Worksheet.
@ Students will complete a 2nd PowerPoint Critique.
