Tab, Group, Ribbon, Multimedia, Informative, Persuasive, Narrative
Persuasive- To advertise so people will purchase an item or to provoke action for a cause.

Bell-Ringer/Connecting Strategy
Please find your name tags. 
Number 1 through 3 on your paper and answer the questions.  
1. Is a tv commercial to buy pizza narrative, educational/informative or persuasive?
2. Your teacher is going to show you how to do algebra is it narrative, informative or persuasive?
3. You read a good fiction book, like Harry Potter is it narrative, informative or persuasive?

2.  Team Candy Challenge- Name the different ways that this PowerPoint is boring
OR Name the different ways it could be better.

3. Go to Computer/ Student Docs/ Witkowski folder/
PowerPoint folder/  3 How to Make Effective Presentations PowerPoint.

6. Using the Design techniques discussed in the PowerPoint
create a 1 slide presentation on "You" Include:
your name, things you like (tv, video games, hobbies, sports)
USE the concepts we learned like contrasting colors, etc.
Narrative Purpose (to broadcast messages, tell a story or entertain) Rubric-
It is worth 100 points
2 points off for spelling mistakes
5 points off for contrast mistakes
2 point off if you don't use proper citation for image
 You MUST only use clip art, do NOT go online
2 points off if you don’t have words size 24 or larger


Homework:
Students need to decide for which ACADEMIC topic
(Typing Posture/Technique, Language Arts, Science,
Social Studies, or Math) they will create a
PowerPoint presentation soon. We will be using the
PowerPoint you create to learn different old and new
features of PowerPoint 2010.
