Friday- Copyright/Fair Use Test & Career Unit

Today we took a test that covered analyzing web resources, copyright and Fair Use limits.

The test covered the following Information & Technology Standard Course of Study:

7.SE.1.1 & 8.SE.1.1 Apply ethical behavior (copyright, not plagiarizing, proper netiquette) when using resources.

7.SI.1.1 & 8.SI.1.1 Evaluate resources for reliability.

We started the Career Unit with students signing up for a free account at CFNC.org (College Foundation of North Carolina). Next week the students will take the CFNC.org career interest inventory.

Students will be researching career information, creating databases and database reports, creating a salary spreadsheet, preparing a word processing career report, creating a web site on Microsoft Publisher and giving a short presentation.

7.TT.1.1 & 8.TT.1.1 Use appropriate technology tools and other resources to access information.
7.SE.1.2 & 8.SE.1.1 Use appropriate technology tools and other resources to organize information (e.g. graphic organizers, databases, spreadsheets, and desktop publishing)

The following Guidance objectives are met:
Develop skills to locate, evaluate, and interpret career information.
Apply personal skills, interests and abilities to current career choices
Demonstrate awareness of the education and training needed to achieve career goals.
