Wednesday, August 29- PowerPoint- When should you use it? Determine purpose.

Bell Ringer:
1. Open PowerPoint.
2. Work in groups to finish your Ribbon Worksheet.
Find the buttons/icons and list their tab and group.
3. When you have turned in the Ribbon Worksheet to Miss W. look at the picture on the top of
page 11 through 12 to see which fingers to use for keys M, R, and I.
4. Open a Word document and type line 6 on page 11, line 10 on page 12 and line 14 on page 12.

Formative Assessment: You will NOT be graded on your answer.
Open PowerPoint and carefully review the File tab, Slide Show tab and the View tab.
1st and 2nd periods:
Read 8th Grade survey question and write down your code.

Read 7th Grade survey question and write down your code.

Guided Practice:
Miss W will review the correct finger placement for keys M, R, and I
Students will see a presentation about when they should use PowerPoint and how to determine the purpose of their presentation.


Independent Exercise:
Students will work in groups and answer the 5 questions on the PowerPoint. They should EACH type or write the question and the letter of the correct answer. After we review the answer choices, students will write out the complete answer.

Homework: Students need to decide for which ACADEMIC topic (Language
Arts, Science, Social Studies, or Math) they want to create a short (7 slides)
PowerPoint presentation during tomorrow's class. BRING your textbooks for that class
tomorrow! We will be using the PowerPoint you create to learn different old and
new features of PowerPoint 2010.


Exit Activity:
Students will practice touch typing the home row keys with a game
called HomeKeysKennys. Remember- Do NOT look at the keys while
