Sept 12 Business and Finance

Learning Goals: Review for the Unit 1.01 and the partial Unit 1.02 test by working on Company Project

Bell Ringer: Students will choose one of two September prompts and write one paragraph (5 to 7 sentences)

Opinion prompt: Using your Business Cycle worksheet do you believe we are in a Big Recession or a Small Depression? Why? Use the facts from your worksheet to support your opinion.

Current Events prompt: Using your Business Cycle worksheet explain why after 9-11-2001 President Bush encouraged Americans to go out and live their lives and to spend money. "When [the terrorists] struck, they wanted to create an atmosphere of fear," Bush said at a Sept. 27, 2001, speech at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. "And one of the great goals of this nation's war is to restore public confidence in the airline industry.

"It's to tell the traveling public: Get on board. Do your business around the country. Fly and enjoy America's great destination spots. Get down to Disney World in Florida. Take your families and enjoy life, the way we want it to be enjoyed." Think about the different business cycle activities and decide which ones he was trying to encourage.

Guided Lesson: Miss W will review Company Project questions and it will also serve as an additional review for Tuesday's test.

Independent Lesson: Students will work on Company projects. Miss W will answer any questions and do a formative check on their Vocabulary Crossword homework to see if students understood the vocabulary. New students took the CTE pre-assessment test.

Self-Management: identify ways to manage content vocabulary

Homework &/or Enrichment: Bring in 10.00 Business fee
