Bell-Ringer/Connecting Strategy
Think about a football team, a cheerleading team or a team of doctors.
On a piece of paper, (paper on the corner of my desk if you need it)
write down 3 things that makes a good team
OR write down 3 things that makes a bad team.
If you get stuck talk with other students on your row.

Guided Lesson:
  • Explain why teams are important in the business world. Even traditionally non-team activities are using teams. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Team_programming
  • Review the Team Work PowerPoint and explain the Group Exercise.
  • Let students choose teams of four students per team.

Group Exercise:
Students will use their problem-solving skills to complete a solve a puzzle challenge.

If time: delete previous years files.
Higher Order Thinking Questions
What skills and attitudes make a good team member?
Student Technology/Differentiation
A kinesthetic activity is used for the teamwork concept.
Closure Strategy
After the puzzle challenge students will complete the Teamwork Worksheet.
If there is time, students will compare and contrast their answers.
If there is not time, students will review answers on the next day.
