Finish Work Place Ethics and Etiquette Unit

Announcements:
Another Career Booth Opportunity for Manufacturing jobs and many Community Colleges is coming this Friday. Get 2 points toward your lowest test grade by stopping by a booth and getting a coupon.

Bell Ringer:
We have talked about careers you would like to have. One possibility is to be an entrepreneur.
An entrepreneur starts their own business. Teenagers can be entrepreneurs.
You are going to read an article about teenagers that started their own company and answer the questios on the back of your Ethics worksheet. Do NOT write on the article handout!

Guided Lesson:
We have talked about ethics (making the right decision) now we are going to talk about business etiquette (using correct behavior). Go to http://career.sdsu.edu/resources/tutorials/manners/etiPre.html#1

Independent Work:

A. We talked about how calling in sick when you are not sick is like stealing your employer's money. Today we are going to calculate how much money it costs a company if you come in 15 minutes late every day. We are going to use the calculators on our computers.

B. You are going to finish the ethics worksheet by answering the two scenarios about Drew and Cathy.

C. Answer the 2 multiple choice questions.

D. Complete the Ethical/Unethical Behavior- Appendix 2.01 (6) worksheet.

E. On the last page you may skip the Community section but you need to complete the Co-workers, customers, property (company property), and environment sections.

Homework: Don't forget to bring the $10.00 Business Fee
