Bell Ringer:
1. Students who are not finished with 2nd Career PowerPoint will work on it.
Look on Feb 8 for links and instructions.
If you get finished with an assignment early you will work on Career 2.
Guided Lesson:
Miss W will check Project 1 this week and next week.
Make sure you review your work.
Once you tell Miss W you are finished and she starts to check it all grades are final.
So far we have investigated
1. Finding your intelligences, skills, personality traits and temperament
2. Finding and researching possible careers you are interested in.
Now we are going to discuss how you can be safe on your first job and throughout your career.
Miss W is going to review "Workplace Safety and You"
Students are going to review environmental hazards at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_environmental_health_hazards
Independent Exercise:
Students will get in small groups of three to five students. Students will act out the first 8 unsafe behaviors. The group that does the best act will receive a candy prize.
Students will answer the first two multiple choice questions.
Guided Lesson:
Miss W and students will review
"NC Working Teens: Protect Yourself and Know Your Rights".
Independent Lesson:
Students will create graphic organizers of possible work hazards.
Below the pictures they will write how to avoid the hazard.
Guided Lesson
Students will learn about what their rights are and what dangerous work is not allowed for teenagers in NC
Independent Exercise:
In groups of two or three, students will create a skit that explains what their rights are OR explains what jobs are not ok for teenagers. The group that does the best act will receive a candy prize.
Students will work on the "Preventing Accidents-Appendix 1.03" worksheet.
Students will read pages 5 through 8.
Homework: Don't forget to bring the $10.00 Business Fee
