Learning Goal:
Finish Unit 2.02 Leadership and Management- Human Resources (HR) section

Bellringer:
1. Read pages 180 and 181

2. Answer the question on the top of the page “Who in your life has influenced you the most and why?”

3. Work on missing work (project first) and then worksheets, fill in the blank questions 23 through 28 should be completed on the new HR sheet.

Guided Instruction:
We will be discussing the Human Resources function in businesses.
4. As a group we will discuss do a job analysis for a teacher position.
5. As a group we will then create an evaluation for the teacher position.

6. We will preview Tuesday's lesson on production with the first 5 minutes of Nova's Making Stuff Smarter- http://www.hulu.com/watch/245482/nova-making-stuff-smarter (Today's clip- Pure research- using the design of shark skin for medical materials research)

Independent Exercise

7. Read pages 180 and 181 about HR Planning, Staffing, and Job Analysis.

8. Write down 2 more duties for “planning, staffing and job analysis”.
I have listed an example.

9. Complete the job analysis of a student on the bottom of your worksheet.

10. You should have already completed the 2nd column “Recruiting and Hiring” on Friday. If not read pages 181 and 182 and list 3 duties for Recruiting and Hiring

11. Read pages 183 and 184 “Compensation and Benefits” and write down 3 BENEFITS.

12. Read pages 185 to 186 about “Performance Management. List 3 duties for Performance Management.

13. On the bottom of the page, evaluate your performance as a student BASED ON YOUR JOB ANALYSIS.

14. Read pages 221 to 222 about the HR Interview process.

15. With a partner determine what type of job you would like to apply for.
Let your partner know. They will ask you 3 interview questions for that job.
You will ask them 3 interview questions for their job (See page 222 for sample questions or use the questions from Friday’s video)
Determine whether their interview questions’ answers were good.
Verbal answers during discussion period- you do not need to write UNLESS you are not doing the exercise.

16. Answer questions on page 186 (1 through 4) on the bottom of your page.

17. At the end of class we will listen to this video.
