Motivation and the Goal Setting process (short, medium, long and ultimate goals) will be discussed
Independent Exercises:
1. Read the "Motivation, Goal Setting, and Success" article
2. Answer the question "What is your motivation for your career?"
3. Students will complete the Visualizing Your Goals "My Goals Poster" prework table AND
The "Stepping Stone Goals" worksheet for Personal, Lifestyle, Educational, and Career goals.
Examples of Stepping Stone Goals:
Educational domain
Ultimate goal graduate from law school
Short term goal take the SAT
Medium term goal finish 2 semesters on B honor roll
Long term goal get a college degree
Career domain
Ultimate goal become a Coach
Short term goal Volunteer with parks and recreation
Medium term goal job shadow or volunteer at school games or take classes gear toward coaching
Long term goal complete application for a job in coaching
4. If time students will look for pictures for the Goals Poster.
