Learning Goals:Continue Unit 6.02 -
Produce a career portfolio-Create a resume, find a position, write a cover letter

Guided Lesson: Items MUST be completed in the following order.
(TIGER TIME:The following items 1 - 4 must be and 5 must be started to avoid today's tiger time):
1*Revised Personal Career Plan and draft must be turned in
2*Revised Resume and draft must be turned in
3*Job posting located and copied to a Word document
4*Completed cover letter (proof read- will be graded the first time!)
5* Start on Unit 6 study guide. You need to have an appropriate clip art for each slide.
6* Fill in the blanks for the work documents section

Guided Lesson

Your address needs to be in right corner
Date may be under your address or to the left above their address
Their address must be in the left column

Independent Exercise:
A.SPELLING AND GRAMMER need to be correct! Use spell check!
Personal Career Plan needs to be only 3 pages
Master's degree (I did NOT correct- you need to proof read and correct)
Doctorate (I did NOT correct- you need to proof read and correct)
It is called Doctor degree only with the subject behind it such as Doctor of Nursing
Practice (D.N.P.), Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.), Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Doctor of Optometry
(O.D.),

B. RESUME is with REAL facts.
C. Complete cover letter.
Cover Letter may have" made up" items based on what you plan to do in college.
It should be specific to the job you found on the internet.

D. Resumes and Personal Career Plans need to be corrected.
You will receive grade based on your corrections.

-Demonstrated to team members the correct way to hold a bat.
-Mentored newer players on game strategies
-Won 2nd place for the 2011-2012 season through team work and
dedication topractice.

2. Find a job: Search on these 2 sites
Students will go to http://www.indeed.com/
or http://www.simplyhired.com/and find
aposition that is close to the one they want.Copy and Paste the hiring
information to a Word document called "job"and save to your Career Portfolio
folder."

3. Review cover letters at this site and start your cover letter
