Mon, Jan 14 - Review DB terms and Typing Project

Bell Ringer Activity:
THERE WILL BE A LOCK DOWN DRILL TODAY

1. Open your typing file and go to pages 234 through 236.
2. Check for:      >  Missing paragraphs (There should be 6) (10 points each)
      > Words that are spelled wrong
          (red underline- Remember names may show up as wrong)
 If you are not checking these items Miss W will give you a typing assignment to complete.

• Grammar is wrong (green underline- extra spaces, no periods, beginning of sentences not capitalized)
• Title and author's name are centered
• Title is bold
• Side titles are bold
• Paragraphs are indented (you may use tab)
• Everything is double space EXCEPT the bibliography
• The left margin is 1.5 (Page Layout tab, click on Margin button, click on custom Margins, change left margin to 1.5)
• There is a page number at the bottom of the page
• The song "Oh! Say, can you see," is centered and in italics
• The word "Bibliography" is centered and in bold
• The bibliography sources should be SINGLE spaced.
• You have all four sources listed in hanging indent style (5 points each)
  How to do the hanging indent format for a bibliography.1. Highlight the text to be formatted.
  2. On the Home Ribbon, to the right of the word "Paragraph" there is a tiny faint arrow click this arrow and a new formatting window will appear.3. Beneath the Indentation heading, set the "Special" field to "Hanging"
  and set the "By" field to "0.5."
  4. Click OK

3.Complete typing vacation information data entries into your database.

4. Pull out both worksheets from your folder.
5. Complete any missing vacation data or worksheet questions. Go to http://www.expedia.com/
All 8 vacation spots should be completed. STOP! and check the top of your worksheet.
There was some confusion about directions.
You need to look at the picture on the worksheet.
Slide 21 was to give you help with the terms
records, fields and entries.

Tuesday- Digital Literacy Certification Test (better of 2 grades)
                if you passed it, bring a book to read or homework
Wednesday- Finish missing work then revise Animation projects               
                When Edmodo crashed it corrupted the animation files.
                You still have the file saved under your lunch number.
                 You will make spelling corrections and then we will convert to video
                 and resave to Edmodo and watch those we didn't watch if time.
Thursday- Finish missing work then Play Ribbon Hero for a prize             
                You may listen to music if you bring your earbuds and a phone or ipod
                 AND are finished with ALL of your work
                 You may NOT stream from computer.
                 You may bring non-messy food to eat.

Miss W will review database vocabulary: tables, records, fields and entries using the Smartboard. .

Independent Exercise:
Students will complete the second side of their worksheet.
You may use the Database PowerPoint to help you.
