Wednesday, March 12th- 8th Grade- Determining a field type and creating a Vacation database

Bellringer:
1. Open your Typing file and on page 37 type lines 5 and 6.            

    Use your right  LITTLE finger for the apostrophe '   key exercise.

2. If your expedia.com worksheet is not finished, finish it (see board)
3. Pull out your Career worksheet
    if you do not have the Career WORKSHEET finished
    Click on http://www.careeroutlook.us/table.php?state=NC&cluster=sci&interest=all
     and choose 6 careers from the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math page.

What are we learning?Understand the basics of databases.
How is database information used, organized, and managed in business?

Bring back signed Interim Reports by Wednesday for 100.  last day for 100


Guided Practice:

@ Students will work in pairs to decide the right field types needed for the vacation
     database. Look on slide 18 on 1 Fundamentals of Databases PowerPoint.
@ Miss W will walk through how to create a vacation database
     by right clicking on the database name to the left and using the Design view.

Independent Exercise:
@ Students will enter their vacation information into their vacation database.

@ If it does not let type in the data, it means you have the field type wrong.
