Monday, March 3rd- 7th Grade- Literacy Review

Bellringer:
1. Open your Typing file and on page 24 type lines 4, 5, and 6.            

    Use your left RING finger for the W key exercise.


2. If you didn't finish brochure,
    get out your Pink Worksheet and your GREEN rubric.

@ Tornado drill this week
     - Tornado Watch- it could happen
     - Tornado Warning- funnel has been sighted-

         -go to hall and kneel with head down and hands over face.
        - keep quiet and calm.

@ Review of Tuesday's lesson for substitute teacher
    -  Need 2 helpers.
    -  Complete daily typing assignment and save. Miss will check on Wednesday.
    -  Click on http://www.careeroutlook.us/table.php?state=NC&cluster=sci&interest=all
    -  Choose 6 careers from the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math page.
    -  Fill in your worksheet for the following categories:


Occupation
Minimum
Education
Growth
Outlook
Current
Workers
Salary
Entry
Job Description

    - You only need to write the first sentence in the job description blank.
   -  Choose one of the 6 careers and create a PowerPoint.
      # The first slide should have your name and occupation and a picture with a citation.
      #  Look at the ENTIRE job description. Have one or more slide for each sentence.
          You may copy and paste job description sentences.
      #  You need at least 5 slides not counting the title page.
      #  Find interesting pictures about that occupation and have one picture per slide with
          the proper citations.
      #  Save to your lunch number.




Guided Practice: 
@Miss W will review the PowerPoint rubric and project requirements.
@Miss W will review the "The New Power of PowerPoint" Achieve 3000 article
    and model techniques on how to find the information. 
@ Use the crayons to highlight different items in the text.
 
 


Independent Exercises:
@ Students need to complete PowerPoint project if name is on the board.
@ Students will complete exit activity.


Friday's Lesson:
@ Complete PowerPoint Project and then
Step 10- Revise (check spelling) Switch with another student and watch their PowerPoint
Write down items you see wrong or that could be improved.
