Implementing 10 Step Procedure for developing a PowerPoint presentation

Last week's Goals:
You should be FINISHED with:
1. Content on 9 to 10 slides
2. Pictures or clip art on all slides
3. Reviewing you design decisions
(review "How to make effective presentation" PowerPoint or see Friday's "green Goals"- easy to read, right mix of words and images, bullets, citations, etc.)

4. 1 to 5 Special effects added (pink sheet items) (make sure you put the number of the effect in the notes pane section)

TODAY's Goals:
5. Finish pink sheet's special effects
6. Review EACH slide for CONTENT*****, image, design, and special effect requirements (
USE the PINK sheet to check off items under the PROJECT section, use the GREEN sheet to check off items)

CONTENT*******MUST be in your own words. You may only use 1 to 2 quotes from the internet with proper citations and quotation marks. GOOGLE will show in a second if you are copying items without giving credit. :( Just say "no" to plagiarism)

TUESDAY's Goals:
7. Check for Spelling and GRAMMAR (sentences MUST be sentences!)
8. YES, I really mean check for mistakes, :) Part of the scoring rubrics is on the number of mistakes.
In high school, college and the working world if you make mistakes in can affect your grade and your job. I'm going to be giving you class time to review. EVERYONE should review.

Guided Practice:
@Miss W will review the correct finger placement for keys.
@ Miss W will model the 10 steps to use to develop a PowerPointpresentation.
@ Miss W will explain the PowerPoint Project rubrics (what skills (knowing how to makeyour PowerPoint look cool) need to be demonstrated on the PowerPoint-pink sheet. It is very important that you put the skill number in the notes pane or you will receive a 0 for thatskill))
and (what content (the important part- the message) and design (thinking about how everything goes together to get your message communicated) need to be demonstrated on the PowerPoint- green sheet)

Independent Exercise:
@ Students will continue working on their project.

Exit Activities:Contest to see which student groupcan put together the 10 steps of the Presentation Development Checklist the fastest
and/or play new typing game (the LESS time the better the score)http://www.learninggamesforkids.com/keyboarding_games/keyboarding_games_typing_adventure1.html
