Monday, May 19th, 7th Grade- Spreadsheets- Finish the If function and start the Count functions

Bellringer:
1. On page 4, type the bottom paragraph that begins
  "The Space Bar, located at the bottom..." 

2. Get out of the crate your Advance Functions Notes papers.
3. Open your Practice With If Functions spreadsheet.
4. You need a pencil or pen. 


TEST this Wednesday: 20 test questions from previous tests
                                       and 5 new questions.

Guided Lesson:

@ Open the PowerPoint called Excel IF statements explained.
@ Students will complete number 5 and 6 on the Practice with IF statements on page 13.
     Remember words need to have quotation marks around them AND     
     
     all formulas and functions start with an equal sign.
     For example: =IF(A5="Carrot","Vegetable","Amphibian")


@ Students will start learning about the Count functions.

@ Put your cursor in B11
@ Type =COUNT(B2:B10) if you did it correctly you should get 6.
@ Type =COUNTA(B2:B10) if you did it correctly you should get 8.
@ Students will start the Overview of Advanced Functions Notes Worksheet by        
     completing the notes (copying the Function, Use and Example)    
     for
Count, and CountA functions.

Independent Exercise
@ Open the CountIF Sports example spreadsheet file to practice the Count functions
     and save to your lunch number.

@ Students will start the Overview of Advanced Functions Notes Worksheet
     by completing the notes (copying the Function, Use and Example)    
     for the 
CountIF function.
