Tuesday, May 13th- 8th Grade- Databases- Using Filters

Bellringer:
1. Open up a new Word document and type the Newsletter section
    of the paper on your desk. Save to your lunch number as Publications.

2. Get out of the crate your Determining Sort Order papers and turn to page 58.
3. Open your Income database.
4.  If you didn't read the Achieve3000 article School Newspapers Go Online
    finish it, 1st attempt will be daily grade.

What are we learning?
How is database information used, organized, and managed in business?

Guided Lesson:
Signed interim reports due back today for a 95 on Wednesday it will be a 90.

What's the difference between a newsletter and another publication?
@ Students will create a Word document to take notes and copy the Newsletter notes.


@ Students will get their Determining Sort Order papers and turn to page 58.
@ Students will open in the DATABASE folder the
    Guided Practice Filtering and 
Sorting A Database Powerpoint.

@ Students will open their INCOME databases.  
@ Miss W will review sorting.
     Ascending Order is A to Z  or 1 to high numbers.
     Descending Order is Z to A or high numbers to low numbers.

Independent Exercise:
@ Students will complete the guided practice of sorting and filtering their income database
     looking at pages 58 and 59.

If there is time:
@ Show students how to screen print.
@ Open your BB Inn database.
@ Open the Independent Practice: Filtering and Sorting a Database PowerPoint
@ Open a Word document and you save to your lunch number as Filters.

@ In pairs work on questions 1 through 7, you must screen print answers to your Word Doc.
