Literacy/Vocabulary Strategies (Word Wall)

Bell-Ringer/Connecting Strategy

Think about a football team, a cheerleading team or a team of doctors. On a piece of paper, (paper on the corner of my desk if you need it) write down 3 things that makes a good team OR write down 3 things that makes a bad team. If you get stuck talk with other students on your row.

Lesson-Instructional Strategies & Procedures for Teacher and Students (Detailed Plans Including Best Practices, Researched Based Strategies)

Guided Lesson: Discuss the common exam pretest (does NOT count as grade this time but will in June) Explain why teams are important in the business world. Review the Team Work PowerPoint and explain the Group Exercise. Let students choose teams of two students per team. Group Exercise: Students will use their problem-solving skills to complete a solve a puzzle challenge.

A kinesthetic activity is used for the teamwork concept.

Closure Strategy

After the puzzle challenge students will complete the Teamwork Worksheet. If there is time, students will compare and contrast their answers. If there is not time, students will review answers on the next day.
