The @ symbol means “AT” and is used in email addresses.
The symbol is also used to express amounts in invoices (bills).

Bell-Ringer/Connecting Strategy
On page 80, type lines 10 and 11.

We have talked about how database administrator make on
average $77,000 per year. We have talked about that it is a
high demand job. Today, I want you to realize that many different
interesting careers use databases.
You may not associate databases with saving animals but the
story you are about to read shows how critical databases are
to endangered animals.
Hopefully the story will motivate you to pay attention when
we talk about sorting and filtering.
