Students will be able to quickly find the Publisher features they need. Students know the difference between different design principles.


Literacy/Vocabulary Strategies (Word Wall)
Tabs, Groups, Ribbon, balance, proximity/unity, alignment, repetition/consistency, contrast, white space
Bell-Ringer/Connecting Strategy
On page 5 type lines 3 and 4.
Use your Use your right and left MIDDLE fingers for the D and K exercise
Lesson-Instructional Strategies & Procedures for Teacher and Students
(Detailed Plans Including Best Practices, Researched Based Strategies)
Guided Lesson:
1. Review Tabs and Groups

Independent Exercises:
2. Go to the Applications button and open up the Publisher software.
    (you will see a green P)
   Students may work in pairs to complete the  
   Publisher 2010 Tabs and Groups worksheet.

3. Miss W will review for Friday’s test

4. Go to Computer/ Student Docs/ Witkowski folder/
Publisher folder/ Design Principles PowerPoint

For Slides 46 through 48
The following questions will be on the test.
Write the number of the question, the red words in the question
and then look through the Design PowerPoint to find which Design principle
(balance, proximity/unity, alignment, repetition/consistency, contrast
or white space)  is described.
For example, you would write:
1. the location, date, time, and cost are centered.
And then the answer to this question is found on slide 21.
You would write that design principle.

Homework- Extra Credit for 2nd test:
Ask your parents if they have a business card or
have one in their wallets from a business or
have a friend with a business card or the next
time you go into a business or they go into a
business see if they have a business card or
at home go to Google and then images and
type "business card" then print a business card.
If you give Miss W a business card sometime
this week you will get 5 points extra credit on
the second test. MUST be appropriate for school-
no alcohol, guns or bad words on cards.

Choose beginner if you are in the beginner category
Choose intermediate if you are in the average category
Click to turn off the sound.

Exit Activity #4:
Match the correct design principle with its definition.
Play until you reach a million dollars.
Answer the questions correctly to win.
