Which Field types should you use for each of the FIELD NAMES below?
Fields are categories of information.
Text, Date/Time, Yes/No, Text, CurrencyFile:Database-excel.png

The RECORDS would be each Farmer Code. Records are a complete set of field entries.
Bell-Ringer/Connecting Strategy
On page 25, type lines 9 and 10.
Remember to use your thumb for the space bar.
We are using our right MIDDLE finger for the , (comma) key.
Make sure you use the shift keys to capitalize the words!

Guided Practice:
@ 7th period only: Students will decide the right field types needed for the vacation
   database. Look on slide 18 on 1 Fundamentals of Databases PowerPoint.
@ Miss W will walk through how to create a vacation database
    by right clicking on the database name to the left and using the Design view.

Independent Exercise:
@ Students will enter their vacation information into their vacation database.
@ If it does not let you type in the data, it means you have the field type wrong.
@ Practice test questions with exit activity 11.


Homework- Extra Credit for 3rd test:
Ask your parents if they have a business card or
have one in their wallets from a business or
have a friend with a business card or the next
time you go into a business or they go into a
business see if they have a business card or
at home go to Google and then images and type
"business card" then print a business card.
If you give Miss W a business card sometime
this week you will get 5 points extra credit on
the second test. MUST be appropriate for school-
no alcohol, guns or bad words on cards.
MUST BE IN BY MONDAY

The first database test will be on these questions.
There are some questions we have not covered yet.
To put data in a particular order is to sort.
Ascending is small to large, A-Z order.
Descending is large to small, Z-A order.
Two examples of connector words are OR and AND.
A feature that displays records that meet one or more specific
criteria is a filter/query.
