Students will make a good grade on the design test.


Literacy/Vocabulary Strategies (Word Wall)
Tabs, Groups, Ribbon, balance, proximity/unity, alignment, repetition/consistency, contrast, white space
Bell-Ringer/Connecting Strategy
On page 15, type lines 9 and 10.
Remember to use your THUMBS for the space bar.
Lesson-Instructional Strategies & Procedures for Teacher and Students

Guided Lesson:
Miss W will explain test instructions.
  • Do not write on test.
  • Use a number 2 pencil.

Miss W will make sure everyone is logged into Achieve 3000.
  • Your user name is your lunch number.
  • Your password is your birthday.
  • 1st score will be a class participation grade.
  • Go to the email section and click on article titled "Letters in, Numbers out"


Independent Activity:
1. Students will quietly take the design test.
2. Students will give the scan sheets and test to Miss W
3. Students will read and answer questions for the "Letters in, Numbers out" article
    1st score will be a class participation grade.
    You do not need to summarize paragraphs.
    Do the 1st 5 dark green tabs. See poster over Smartboard.
    You may need to read the article more than once.

Homework- Extra Credit for 2nd test:
Ask your parents if they have a business card or
have one in their wallets from a business or
have a friend with a business card or the next
time you go into a business or they go into a
business see if they have a business card or
at home go to Google and then images and type
"business card" then print a business card.
If you give Miss W a business card sometime
this week you will get 5 points extra credit on
the second test. MUST be appropriate for school-
no alcohol, guns or bad words on cards.
MUST BE IN BY FRIDAY
