  1. How many records does this database have?
  2. Name the 3 fields this database has.
  3. What field type should the Activity field be?
  4. If we are going to add and average miles, what field type should the Miles field be?
  5. How many entries are in this database?

We are using our right PINKY finger for the  - HYPHEN  key.

Guided Lesson:
@ Miss W will review database vocabulary 1 Database Fundamentals PowerPoint
@ Miss W will review data types 2 Data Types and Field Properties Power Point

@ Miss W will review different data types with students.
@ Miss W will review creating a database with students
   - Remember there should be NO spaces in the field names.
- HistoricInn field should be the text data type.
- No.Rooms field could be the text OR the number data type (if you using for math).
- Pets field should be the yes/no data type.
           - City field should be the yes/no data type.
- Children field should be the yes/no data type.  
Independent Exercise:
@ Students will finish the BB Inns database.
@ It is very important to enter the data correctly or you will get the problems wrong!
@ Students are use to seeing a database in DATASHEET View.
Datasheet View displays data in a row-and-column format.

@ Students will look at the DESIGN View to see if they used the correct database types.
Design View lets you tell Access exactly how you want the object to look.

@ Students will open the Data Type and Field Properties PowerPoint

@ If time: Students will learn about the LOOK UP Wizard database type.
A WIZARD asks you questions and formats the form according to your preference.

Do NOT name the field first wait until you are asked for it.  

Students will work through an example with the teacher
using a Lookup Wizard with the
BBinns file to create a Discount field.
The Discount field should be the Lookup & Relationship data type.
When you get to number of columns type in the following choices:
Senior  
Military
AAA
Other  
Higher Order Thinking Questions
What items are needed to create a database?
Student Technology/Differentiation
Closure Strategy

Exit Activity #10:
Choose home row and easy. Turn off sound.
